NorthRow Version 1.93 - Release Notes
This document details the changes in North Row Release V1.93
New Document Workflow Engine and Suppliers
We have significantly improved our document check workflow, creating a separate microservice dedicated to handling the processing of automatic and/or manual and expert identification document checks. This will mean that your document check responses return faster, while maintaining the same level of quality and document coverage. This has also allowed us to integrate two new suppliers:
GBGroup (GBG) ID Scan: We have implemented GBG’s auto and manual service to replace the service currently integrated into NorthRow. GBG offers a host of new features that will be introduced to NorthRow in iterative releases. These will help improve pass rates and reduce time spent conducting amber management - whilst maintaining your extensive document coverage.
TrustID: We have integrated Trust ID’s Expert Review service. This enables users to get a manual second opinion from a document expert if other checks deliver inconclusive results.
With the increasing use of technology and the delivery of digital transformation, these new partnerships bring together combined skills to deliver a powerful document verification solution.
What changes will I notice in Northrow?
Release 1.93 has been aimed at functional equivalency with our existing document service, meaning most changes will not be immediately obvious to users and that no change should be required to your existing API integrations. This release mainly allows to lay the foundation for future improvements in later iterations.
Nevertheless, there are some improvements that will be available immediately:
Increased speed in document check responses. Although the incumbent service wasn’t slow - the new service is even faster.
We have made the full range of document verification options available through RemoteVerify. Please speak to firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to discuss this option for your RV enabled profile.
Clearer system notes detailing the level of processing each document receives.
The rules response now clearly differentiates between documents that were sent to the provider and could not be checked (Rule 1401) and documents that could not be sent to the provider (Rule 1559)
Rule 1622 will now consistently fire for PDF images that could not be converted to an image; such PDFs are not be sent to a provider for checking
The raw supplier response to document checks for our API 3 users will now use a consistent agnostic document response format regardless of supplier used - making it easier to integrate.
There are also some existing features that are temporarily unavailable and will be reinstated in future iterations:
Passport image crops in the check PDF and data tab on the NorthRow dashboard.
Some explanatory text in responses for failed documents. This specifically affects Rule 1401: ‘Unable to check identity document’
Rule 1565: ‘Biometric data and MRZ match’ and Rule 1566: ‘Possible mismatch between biometric data and MRZ’
